FAQs
1. How often do I have to get my fire extinguishers serviced? Only 1x/year by a Licensed Company/Licensed Individual unless the fire extinguisher has been discharged. Call immediately to have the extinguisher recharged if it has been used or looks defective.
2. Exactly what are you doing to my fire extinguisher(s) each year? It is a visual third party inspection. Proof of inspection is made via the tag that is attached to the unit at the end of a successful inspection.
3. Are there other services provided? Yes! (a) Every 6 years a "Six Year Maintenance" is required before we can "certify" the fire extinguisher with a new tag. The FX is torn down and put back together again with parts being checked and/or replaced. (b) Every 12 years a "Hydrostatic" test is required. The same work as a Six Year but the cylinder will be hydrostatically tested, as required.
